3Whataburger's Whataburger
Whataburger has an identity, knows what it is, and sticks to it. The chain specializes in burgers, is based in the Southern U.S. and was founded with one goal: make a burger so good, people will holler its name. What a burger!
The Whataburger comes with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, mustard, and whatever else you wish. One thing more fast food places should do is take a note from Whataburger and lightly toast their buns.
4Wendy's Baconator
Wendy's has been the go-to for a lot of people for decades, as their delicious burgers and classic style has customers coming back for more. And the Baconator is what they come back for, time and again. This thing goes hardcore on the meat, with six strips of Applewood Smoked Bacon on top of two patties. Oh, don't forget the cheese. It's a grip of calories, but this life is all about living.
5White Castle's Slider
It seems like White Castle has been around forever. It is one of America's first fast food restaurants, opening in 1921 and becoming famous for their sliders. Co-founder Walter Anderson is credited with the invention of the hamburger bun, and his little burgers are legendary for their size, taste, and price. Until the 1940s, they only cost a nickel each.
